Our main role at this event is to organise a large Pay2Play gaming space for attendees to have fun and be introduced to more modern board games. With an extensive games library of over 80+ curated, community owned games contributed by local groups and individuals to make up an extensive selection. From entry level games to even more heavyweight games, for the more experienced players. There will be a broad range to sample, including, Settlers of Catan, Carcassonne and Pandemic, to more obscure and zany titles, you might not never heard of.

Our friendly Game Masters will be on hand to share their passion!

Needless to say, with this amount of games, it’s pretty much guaranteed there will be something there for everyone! InGameUK will have experienced, friendly Game Masters on hand to teach the rules and answer any questions. While sharing their passion for this exciting hobby and informing people of what local groups they can get involved in outside these two days.

If you enjoy the games you play, you’ll be able to order them at the InGameUK kiosk, available on site!

WIN! The Thing: Infection at OutPost 31

There will also be an exciting competition with the game “The Thing: Infection at Outpost 31”. Based on the classic 1980’s movie, the board game captures the paranoia of the film brilliantly as players deduce which one of them is infected. Up to 16 players can take part each day. With a cost of £8 per player to enter. Each player will receive a chance to win a copy of the game in our prize draw taking place on Sunday. As well as many more fantastic Board Game prizes. Each player will also receive a 10% discount voucher to be used at our Kiosk at the venue.

Supporting Mind www.mind.org.uk

£1.50 of every players entry fee goes to Mind South West, a charity that focuses on providing advice and support for people experiencing mental health issues, so not only are you entering to play a superb board game and have a fun time, and the chance to win brilliant prizes, but also you’ll be helping a really fantastic charity continue to do it’s amazing work.

There will even be a small space provided for the existing Board Game community to sell their second hand games and pass on a little bit of passion to new players entering hobby!

The WSC is a huge international event with players from locations across the globe, with participants coming from places varying from Nigeria, Thailand, Pakistan, Singapore, Qatar, India, the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand and many more, coming to challenge themselves and each other for a big prize pot of US$20,000. Beginning in 1991, the WSC has held events all over the world, from London to New York, Warsaw and Kuala Lumpur, and is one the leading proponents of mind sports. Along with the main competition of English language scrabble, the event will also play host to the World Junior Championships as well as German, Catalan and Norwegian language competitions. As well as the main event of the Scrabble Championships the event also includes some great family friendly activities such as a Scrabble trail around picturesque Torquay, parents vs. children Scrabble games and much more.

Why not come down and have a game!

At InGameUK we love to be active and involved in local, regional, national and even international gaming communities and particularly love opportunities such as this, which allow us to collaborate and share our love of the hobby with people who might not otherwise know much about it. Joining many other like minded groups, in order to promote our fantastic hobby to a wider audience and to increase participation in such active communities that exist throughout the country. Our team always enjoy meeting others and bringing people and ideas together to create a more widely connected community for all involved. It is a great step for us in terms of our aims of creating a vibrate gaming community in the wider area of South Devon.

InGameUK are very excited by this opportunity and see it as a valuable experience for us to provide more of these kinds of events locally, regionally and nationally in the future. Practice makes perfect, and we see this opportunity as both a great networking experience in terms of the fantastic collaboration opportunities we are getting from this with regard to the MSA and local board gaming groups, as well as a unique learning experience for us at InGameUK to refine our processes for what we want to do later after combining the ideas of ours and our collaborators and seeing how the MSA organises such a large international tournaments.

InGameUK are delighted to be a part of this event, and fully appreciate the great opportunity it gives us to collaborate with others on such enjoyable projects. We will be attending more and more events in the future and would love to collaborate with more gaming communities to help promote what you love to wider audiences. Happy Gaming Everyone!
